Based at 1392 Bristol Road, Bristol, ME 04539, Ocean's Edge Marine works the harbors, rivers and islands of the Maine coast — from the Pemaquid Peninsula and Johns Bay to Muscongus Bay, the Boothbay region and the Sheepscot.
Local Knowledge, On the Water
Every stretch of this coast behaves differently. Tide range, ledge, current, ice and exposure all change what a pier, wharf or seawall needs to survive, and our crew has built in each of these areas long enough to plan for it. Below is how we work region by region, along with the towns and waters we cover most often.
Pemaquid Peninsula
Bristol, New Harbor, Pemaquid, Pemaquid Beach, Round Pond and Chamberlain
Our shop sits on Bristol Road, so the peninsula is home water for us. Ledge, strong tidal range and exposed harbors shape almost every job here, from timber pier and wharf construction in New Harbor and Round Pond to float systems at Pemaquid Beach and rock-anchored pile driving off Chamberlain. Because the crew is minutes away, we can look at a site quickly, work a tide window the same week and return for seasonal float and ramp changes without a long haul.

Damariscotta Region
Damariscotta, Newcastle, South Bristol, Bremen and Nobleboro
The Damariscotta River runs deep and fast, and its banks change character mile by mile. Upriver in Newcastle and Nobleboro we handle bank stabilization, retaining walls and ramps sized for a softer shoreline; downriver toward South Bristol and Bremen the work leans toward heavier pile driving, wharf repair and float installations that stand up to current and winter ice. Aquaculture and working-waterfront owners along the river also call on us for repairs that have to be finished between harvests.

Boothbay Region
Boothbay, Boothbay Harbor, Edgecomb, Southport and nearby islands
Boothbay Harbor is busy from June to September, so scheduling matters as much as construction. We stage barge deliveries and crane lifts around the boating season, rebuild aging wharves and gangways before the docks fill, and set moorings for owners in Edgecomb and Southport who need reliable ground tackle. Island properties in the region are handled entirely from the water, with materials, equipment and crew arriving by barge.

Muscongus Bay Region
Waldoboro, Friendship, Cushing, Port Clyde, St. George and nearby islands
Muscongus Bay is island country, and much of what we do there arrives on the barge: pilings, granite, timber, machinery and crew. We build and repair working wharves in Friendship and Port Clyde, set moorings and haul-off systems for lobster and cruising boats, and provide marine transport and construction support for camps and homes on islands with no road access. Exposure here is real, so structures are detailed to shed storm surge rather than fight it.

Sheepscot Region
Wiscasset, Westport Island and Georgetown
Along the Sheepscot we've worked on public and private landings alike, including ongoing construction at the Wiscasset Town Landing. Strong current and a wide tide make level, well-founded landings essential, so projects here often combine pile driving, pre-cast concrete or granite work and careful grading before floats ever go in. Westport Island and Georgetown owners also count on us for seawall repair, ramps and access stairs on steep, wooded shorefront.

Farther Along the Coast
We regularly travel beyond Lincoln County for barge transportation, pile driving and larger construction work, including Rockland, Camden and the islands offshore.
